Late FIRST Thursday - with Trinidad Ball

A first for Skylark! We're moving the Late Thursday events to the FIRST Thursday of every month. This ties in with Time Out's First Thursday events in east-London, so if you're out and about for the evening why not stop by the Southbank on your way to or from east London?

For the first event of 2009 Trinidad Ball will be talking about her stunning realistic paintings - a mixture of the long tradition of oil painting and contemporary objects and icons.

Ruty Benjamini - photos from Late Last Thursday

In August 2007, Ruty Benjamini participated in the 43rd International
Ceramic and Sculpture workshop in Boleslaviec, Poland. She worked for
a month in Manufactura stoneware factory, using industrial materials
and processes. The work she made is a response to that enviroment and
exciting potentials. Some of the work has been on exhibition in Boleslaviec
Cultural Centre, and from June 12th at Peter Tauscher Gallery, in
Waldenburg, Germany. Other pieces are on show for the first time at
Skylark 2 Gallery. In August 2008 Ruty will participate in the 44th
workshop in Boleslaviec.

Jenny Wiggins triumphs at Bristol

Jenny Wiggins' paintings of maps on aluminium 'Reverse Archeology' drew huge interest to the Skylark stand at Bristol Affordable Art Fair.

Jenny will be at Skylark Gallery 2 at the Oxo Tower this Thursday, May 29th, from 6-8 pm, to give a talk 'Maps and Memories'. Come to the gallery and enjoy a glass of wine, discounted art and some interesting conversation.
